This place is amazing. Exceeded expectations. We stayed in the Hilltop Cabin. Private, well appointed, luxurious, clean, spacious, romantic, and finished to such a high standard. Oh, and did I mention the views. At night we watched lightning dancing above the hills in the distance. During the day we relaxed to rolling greens as far as the eye can see. Kangaroos at the cabin door, black cockatoos ganging in the trees. Peace and quiet. Australia at its best. So good. - John
About
Our Story

Hello! We are Ben and Valerie, a young family with two boys living in Sydney. Between work and our youngest starting kindergarten, birthday parties, social events and planning for a future renovation on our house, life was busy!
We decided we needed a break, a mid-week getaway, time to refresh and reconnect amidst all the craziness of family life. Valerie found Mt Kanimbla Retreats online and instantly fell in love. “We have to stay here!” She exclaimed, showing Ben the pictures. “They even have ponies!”
We stayed at Hilltop Cabin and it was the breath of fresh air we needed. Little did we know at the time that five months later we would give up the renovation idea, sell our house and have the privilege and responsibility for this amazing place.
It was definitely not in the five-year plan! But we’ve taken the plunge and are so excited to share Mt Kanimbla Retreats with you! May it be a place of respite, relaxation and joy for you as it was for us – welcome!
Meet the Team
Luckily for us we aren’t doing this alone- we have an incredible team who all love Mt Kanimbla Retreats as much as we do!
Maddie- Admin extraordinaire. She handles all the bookings / payments / enquiries and is an organisational whiz! When she’s not answering emails she’s outside looking after horses!
Chelsea- Housekeeper / general manager. She literally keeps the place running, making sure everything is well stocked and immaculate. Those thoughtful little touches? Chelsea made them happen!
Phil- Building and grounds maintenance. On such a large rural property, there’s always work to be done, Phil makes sure there’s always water in the tanks and stacked firewood ready to go.
